The chapter starts with the God’s Knights’ attempt to kidnap the children of Elbaf. The giants try to save the kids but they can’t touch them.
It’s then revealed that Sommers ate Iba Iba no Mi (Thorn-Thorn Fruit), which activates whenever someone tries to touch his targets. The moment someone touches the target, thorns attack them, and the stronger the love for the target, the more painful the thorns get.
Killingham, on the other hand, ate the Mythical Zoan Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Model: Qilin. The Devil Fruit allows him to materialize things from people’s dreams. This power is demonstrated when the God’s Knights are seen eating in the forest and need salt. Sommers thinks about salt and Killingham uses his powers to put him to sleep and materialize the salt from his dream.

The next half of One Piece Chapter 1143 focuses on Luffy and company in the Underworld. Having set Loki free from his chains, Luffy uses a weak blow against Loki and knocks him out. Zoro notes that Loki was already near death before they arrived.
Luffy asks Gerth to heal the infamous prince. She initially refuses but ultimately decides to help him. However, Hajruddin has different plans for his stepbrother. A flashback reveals how Hajruddin was bullied by Loki in their childhood. He now wants revenge for their father’s murder.
However, the chapter ends on a puzzling note as Loki wakes up and asks Hajruddin: “Do you really think I killed Father because I wanted to? I know you don’t believe that either.”
