First mentioned during the Wano Country Arc, the God Valley Incident is a key event that happened 38 years ago. It’s known for being the downfall of the feared Rocks D. Xebec, who was defeated by the unlikely alliance of Roger and Garp. Everything else about it was hidden from the public.
Readers, however, eventually learn what really happened that day on the eponymous island. Kuma’s memories revealed that the incident was orchestrated by the World Government, who used the island and its citizen for their twisted hunting game. Elbaf Arc sheds more light on the matter, unveiling that Rocks went to the island to protect his family, while the Roger Pirates went to save Shakuyaku.
Chapter 1159 also revealed that Shanks and Shamrock were fathered by Garling on the island. However, the Celestial Dragon killed their mother and took the children. Dragon – a rookie Marine at the time – was also present on the island during the incident. What happened after that is shown in Chapter 1160.

Manga PlusTitled the ‘God Valley Incident’, One Piece Chapter 1160 takes the story forward from the last installment. The cover page has Yamato visiting Oden’s shrine during her travel across Wano.
In Chapter 1159, we learn that Rocks’ real name was Davy D. Xebec, and he was a descendant of the notorious Davy D. Jones. The new chapter reveals that the Davy family was a group of Buccaneers, who are considered traitors by the World Government. The chapter also shows Blackbeard’s mother for the first time.

After Garling stabbed her, Shanks and Shamrock’s mother came across Dragon and asked him to take care of her children’s future. Elsewhere, the Celestial Dragons began the hunting game. Dragon ended up shooting one of them to save Kuma.
Meanwhile, the Rocks Pirates, the Roger Pirates, and Garp arrived in God Valley. All of God’s Knights make their appearance in this chapter, too. The new Knight looks like a Yeti with horns. One Piece Chapter 1160 ends with Dragon saving Shanks and Shamrock.
