One Punch Man Season 3 trailers have fans divided for one major reason

A new teaser trailer for One Punch Man Season 3 has arrived, and while plenty of anime fans are excited, others have one major complaint about the clips they’ve seen so far.

The One Punch Man anime has been the subject of much debate ever since the end of Season 1, when a production overhaul took place: Chikara Sakurai replaced Shingo Natsume as director, while J.C.Staff took over from Madhouse.

When Season 2 arrived in 2019, four years after the debut chapter, it received complaints over a perceived dip in quality, and there have been similar concerns surrounding the upcoming Season 3 – new director Shinpei Nagai has even asked fans to stop harassing the creators.

But that hasn’t stopped complaints, with attention now turning to a new teaser trailer.

One Punch Man Season 3 teaser trailer sparks debate

The clip, which is currently only available without English subtitles, features mostly static images. This has left some fans worried, as One Punch Man Season 3 is due to premiere on October 5, 2025.

Taking to Reddit in response to the new trailer, one wrote, “Y’all have to be delusional to think something good will come out from J.C.Staff.

“So far in every trailer they are simply showing us static images with just talking characters, and so far THE ONLY action scene we were shown is the goddamn Garou fight, which was first shown more than a year ago and they are still reusing the same scene instead of showing us more to make more hype.”

“How many years has it been??” asked another, while a third added, “Need a long trailer with glimpses of action.”

In another scene shared on YouTube, one wrote, “People are saying ‘It’s just a simple scene, relax.’ Which imo is fine, yeah. But I don’t think they’ve shown *anything* other than that.

“Just still scenes or scenes without much going on. Less than a month from release. I’m not delusional and expect Season animation, but like damn dog, throw me a bone here.”

On the other side of the debate, fans are jumping in to defend the show. “Season 2 was made in like six months and it came out in the season where J.C.Staff dropped six anime,” said one.

“Now they have definitely more time and in this season One Punch Man is one of like three J.C.Staff ongoings. We already see that art style, post production and coloring became better. The animation in Season 2 by itself was decent, except for Garou vs Metal Bat.

“Even if the animation level will be the same, with normal post production and sound design, it is gonna be a decent watch. Not Season 1 level, but still good.”

Another chimed in, “What else are we supposed to do? Riot in Japan while I live overseas? I am just a One Punch Man fan and after five years, I just wanna see One Punch Man. I would be disappointed if it looks extremely bad but if it looks decent at this point, I am satisfied.”

“No point of being fully pessimistic though,” added a third, while a fourth commented, “They’ve been working on Season 3 for almost two years gang, I think we’ll be just fine.”
