Battlefield lead producer David Sirland addressed leaked gameplay footage and assured fans not to believe everything they see.
Battlefield Labs is a playtest designed for players to provide feedback about a pre-alpha build of the upcoming installment.
Within two days of announcing the invite-only program, the reveal trailer already had 1.5 million views on YouTube and 2.3 million on X.
In addition, Battlefield Studios was forced to make adjustments to improve the sign-up experience after too many players attempted to sign up. Suffice to say many fans aren’t able to get access, meaning they have to get all of their information from leaked Battlefield Labs.
However, Sirland warned fans not to read too much into the leaks.
Battlefield dev downplays significance of leaked gameplay footage

Even though players aren’t supposed to share Battlefield Lab’s footage, they wasted no time sharing gameplay clips right after the playtest started. Since then, more gameplay has leaked online, giving fans a general idea of what to expect.
This includes destruction, gunplay, tanks, movement, a classic class system, updated UI, and more. Most leaked gameplay received positive reception, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it represents the final product.
Sirland explained, “This BF may look to play one way, but I assure you it also has many layers you need to play to perceive.”
Battlefield’s lead producer continued, “We use equal amounts of feedback, data, and confirmation connected to the goals we have for our various design areas. Some of these we’ll revamp based on outcomes – but a majority we’ll hone the balance of.”
