Leakers have uncovered a skin expected to appear in Battlefield 6, and it already has players worried about cosmetics that ruin the realistic aesthetic.
Ever since Battlefield 6 was announced, the devs have reassured fans that they want to keep the game grounded in reality. Goofy crossovers are something that Call of Duty has come under fire for in recent years, and design director Shashank Uchil even took a small dig at its rival when he said, “I don’t think it needs Nicki Minaj. Let’s keep it real.”
This was music to players’ ears, both to Battlefield veterans who want something similar to BF3 or BF4, and to CoD fans who have grown frustrated with over-the-top skins.
However, with another BF6 playtest underway in Battlefield Labs, leakers have revealed some of the skins available in-game, and one, in particular, is causing some concern.
BF6 players slam leaked skin
The skin in question features a mostly black design with splashes of lime green, including on the helmet and face mask. While it’s not exactly the same as a Beavis and Butt-Head crossover, fans on Reddit are worried that it might set a precedent for what’s to come.
“Even if you don’t think this looks too flashy or over the top, the community needs to push back against skins like these,” said SpiritualBacon. “EA [will] push cosmetics as far as we let them and we shouldn’t wait ’til they try adding Santa before they are deterred by community backlash.”
The post has since received over 3,500 upvotes, and plenty of other players replied in agreement.
“I just don’t understand the thought process of these designers when they create s**t like this,” wrote one player. “Just give us authentic military skins and everybody is happy.”

“Cosmetics like this are a slippery slope,” added another. “Look at what’s happened with CoD from MW2019 to BO6 they get worse and worse each year.”
It’s worth keeping in mind that this is all based on a leak, so it remains to be seen how BF6 actually approaches skins. But either way, it’s clear that many fans want to put a stop to any immersion-breaking outfits before they get too outlandish.
