Black Ops 6 Season 6 is the final seasonal update of the game’s lifecycle, and it’s set to be a big one with the return of The Haunting Halloween event.
Although Black Ops 7 arrives on November 14, there’s still plenty of life left in BO6. Season 5 introduced a whole host of new weapons, maps, and events for players to get stuck into, and Season 6 will be no different.
This is also the final season before the new multiplayer launches, and it’s going out with a bang by bringing back the ever-popular Halloween event — The Haunting.
Here’s everything you need to know about Black Ops 6 Season 6, including when it’s due to arrive.
Black Ops 6 Season 6 start date
The Season 6 update is scheduled to drop on Thursday, October 9, 2025, according to the timer displayed in-game. This is when Season 5 is due to end, and given that Call of Duty updates always release on the same day, this should be the date.
However, this hasn’t been officially confirmed by the devs, and Black Ops 7 beta runs until October 8, so it’s possible that it could be moved back.

The Haunting
After returning in 2023, The Haunting has become a yearly tradition in Call of Duty, and it’s expected to continue in Season 6. This Halloween event brings a spooky overhaul to multiplayer, complete with new-look maps and terrifying modes.
In last year’s version, we got zombie-infested modes like Infected and Hoardpoint. While it’s not a guarantee that these specific modes will make a return, it’s safe to assume that at least one horror-themed LTM is included in the update.

You can also expect some new multiplayer maps with spooky vibes, as well as gruesome overhauls to existing maps like we saw Mad Cow (Meat) in Modern Warfare 3.
On top of all that, The Haunting usually includes some crossovers with iconic horror franchises. In 2024, we got the likes of Halloween, Terrifier, and Smile 2, so we’ll have to wait and see what’s in store this time.
What else to expect
Although the devs haven’t announced anything about BO6 Season 6 just yet, there are certain additions that come in every major update without fail. Here’s what to expect:
- New weapons
- New maps
- Weapon buffs and nerfs
- Battle Pass
- New Operators and skins
- Zombies content
That was everything we know about the update so far. We should get a full blog breaking down everything that’s included, so we’ll be sure to update this page as soon as we know more.
In the meantime, check out what to expect in Warzone Season 6.
