A new Black Ops 7 leak has revealed a “Cursed” mode coming to Zombies, sending the mode back to its roots by removing loadouts and armor.
This year’s version of the undead survival mode is a throwback in many ways. Not only is it heavily inspired by BO2’s Tranzit, but it also marks the return of Dead Ops Arcade and even mixes the original and BO6 crews.
Now, according to a fresh leak, it’s only going to take things one step further by launching with an alternate mode that’s more in line with old school Zombies.
Leaked BO7 Zombies removes loadouts & armor
In an X post from TheGhostOfHope, who has accurately reported a number of details about past Call of Duty titles, the leaker claimed that BO7 will launch with two modes — Standard and Cursed. Standard is the experience we’ve come accustomed to in recent years, with armor player and custom loadouts allowed.
Meanwhile, Cursed strips things back, removing loadouts completely so players start with nothing more than a Pistol. It also takes away armor and the ability to exfil, so matches only end if you quit or get overrun by enemies.
This is much closer to the classic Zombies gameplay that players fell in love with all the way back in World at War, where you start with nothing and have to work to get hold of weapons and Perks. This is done by racking up points to purchase items from the wall or visit the Mystery Box.
The leak also revealed that Cursed will feature its own unique Mystery Box and wall buys, so you won’t be able to rely on the same tactics as you would in Standard.

This will be music to the ears of old-school fans who enjoyed the tension of starting a run completely from scratch, but for newer players looking to bring their custom weapons into the action, BO7 will seemingly cater to both.
Of course, this is all based on a leak for now, but we’re expecting more details in the lead-up to and during CoD Next on September 30.
