When is Warzone Season 6 update? The Haunting & everything we know

Michael Myers, Art the Clown, and Sam in Warzone

Warzone has one final season up its sleeve before Black Ops 7 arrives, and Season 6 is also set to bring The Haunting Halloween event.

Although the Black Ops 6 era of Warzone is winding down, it’s not quite over yet. After Season 5 brought new guns like the ABR A1 and the Nuketown Block Party event, Season 6 is set to bring this chapter of the CoD battle royale to a close.

On top of all the usual additions, players can also look forward to the yearly Halloween event, which always brings horror-themed crossovers and spooky maps.

So, here’s everything we know so far about the update, including when it’s due to arrive.

Warzone Season 6 start date

The Season 6 update is expected to arrive on Thursday, October 9, 2025, based on the Battle Pass timer found in-game. Season 5 is currently scheduled to end on this date, and new CoD seasons always drop on the same day, so unless there are any delays, this should be the start date.

It’s also just after the Black Ops 7 beta, so it gives fans a reason to return to Warzone once it ends on October 8.

However, the devs are yet to officially announce this, so we should get confirmation in a blog post nearer the time.

After appearing in the last two Call of Duty titles, The Haunting is expected to return once again in Season 6. This yearly Halloween event completely takes over both battle royale and multiplayer, giving both games a horror makeover.

While we don’t know what this year will have in store, the previous edition brought new variants of two Resurgence maps. One was a nighttime Vondel, which is unlikely to return given that the map has been missing for months at this point, and Hellspawn Rebirth, which covered the iconic map with tenticles and gnarly piles of flesh.

It’s not totally clear if either of these will return, but it’s safe to assume that Warzone’s maps will be given some kind of overhaul.

You can also look forward to some themed modes similar to MW3’s Purgatory, which introduced extra power-ups to Resurgence.

On top of all that, the update also historically introduces crossovers with major horror franchises. Last year, we got the likes of Terrifier and Halloween, but given that the devs have committed to less goofy skins in the future, it remains to be seen if we get any collabs this time.

What else to expect

As well as The Haunting, there will also be the usual content that comes with every new season. Here’s what to expect:

  • New weapons
  • New Battle Pass
  • New Operator skins
  • Events
  • Weapon buffs and nerfs
  • LTMs
