Season 5 Reloaded is set to be one of the final major updates before Black Ops 7 arrives on November 14, but that doesn’t mean that Black Ops 6 is done yet. The patch comes with new maps, modes, and even an event inspired by the Black Ops series’ most iconic map.
As part of the Nuketown Block Party event, players can unlock a brand-new attachment for the popular PPSh-41 SMG, which ditches the need to reload and gives it infinite ammo.
New attachment makes PPSh-41 better than ever
One of the rewards included in the events, which goes live on September 4 alongside the Reloaded update, is the Helical Magazine. This attachment is only available on the PPSh-41, but comes with some ridiculous benefits.
“Say goodbye to reloads with the PPSh-41 Helical Magazine, providing the PPSh-41 with a massive amount of ammo,” said the official blog. “Sustained fire fills an overheat meter, so take intermittent breaks from the onslaught of lead to keep your weapon at the ready.”
This means that the magazine doesn’t have a traditional ammo count, removing the need to reload and allowing you to keep firing along as you manage the overheat meter.
ActivisionThat’s not the only bonus, either. The new magazine also offers ” improved range, recoil control, and mobility,” making the SMG more viable at medium ranges.
The PPSh-41 is a CoD staple at this point, and it’s deadly in Black Ops 6 as long as you play to its strengths. However, its notoriously fast fire rate means that you often find yourself burning through ammo and needing to reload at crucial times.

With the Helical Magazine, though, this is no longer an issue, which could see it become an absolute monster, especially on smaller maps, as players start endless firing down hallways.
So, if you’ve been sleeping on the PPSh in recent seasons, now is the time to dust it off, as it looks set to become a meta SMG in Season 5 Reloaded.
