ActivisionBlack Ops 7 brings an upgraded version of the body shield mechanic from BO6, this time allowing you to jam a grenade onto enemies and use them as a walking explosive.
On September 22, we got our first real look at Black Ops 7‘s multiplayer ahead of the gameplay deep dive at CoD Next. It showed off a number of previously announced features, from the new Overclock system to the many launch maps.
It also featured a few surprises, such as the news that camos will require significantly fewer headshots to unlock. But one of the most entertaining announcements was the Grenade Body Shield Finisher, which looks set to become a favourite amongst trolls.
Black Ops 7 adds new “Grenade Body Shield Finisher”
This time, instead of the human shield simply ending with either your enemy being shot by their own teammates or being let go, Treyarch have added a more explosive way for it to play out.
Once your target has served their purpose, you can trigger a finishing move that sees you attach a live grenade to their back, before kicking them forward. After a few seconds, the grenade detonates, killing the poor shield as well as any enemies caught in the blast.
ActivisionThis opens up the door for some tactical plays, as being able to stand out in the open and soak up damage, before countering with a human grenade, gives opposing teams a reason to quickly clear an area.
But not only that, you can also expect it to be popular with players who like to dunk on their opponents before beating them. The human shield feature was already the go-to way to huilaite an unsuspecting team, so sending them back with an explosive attached is just adding insult to injury.
