Destiny 2’s first Void-element Rocket Sidearm has finally arrived in Episode Heresy and it might just be the best addition to the archetype yet.
Lotus-Eater is obtainable exclusively from Nightfalls, including Grandmaster difficulty, the latter of which drops sought-after Adept versions able to roll multiple perks in each column and equip Adept Mods.
March 11’s weekly reset marks the first instance of Lotus-Eater being available to farm and that’s exactly what you’ll want to do until you score a god roll – it’s a meta monster with multiple viable perk combos for PvE.
Repulsor Brace? Destabilizing Rounds? Withering Gaze? This pocket-sized pistol has all the good stuff.
Lotus-Eater PvE & PvP god rolls – Meta analysis
PvE God Roll | PvP God Roll |
---|---|
Barrel: Quick Launch Magazine: High-Explosive Ordnance Perk 1: Repulsor Brace or Reconstruction Perk 2: Destabilizing Rounds Masterwork: Velocity | Barrel: Quick Launch Magazine: High-Explosive Ordnance Perk 1: Strategist Perk 2: Withering Gaze or High Ground Masterwork: Velocity |

Just like The Call, Aberrant Action, and Tinasha’s Mastery, Velocity is a key stat you’ll want to boost as much as possible with Lotus-Eater. Fast projectiles means faster kills, making Quick Launch your best barrel option for both PvE and PvP.
For the magazine, High-Explosive Ordnance is what you want for a boost to Blast Radius, making splash damage and collateral kills infinitely more consistent. A degree of personal preference comes into play for the remaining perks. While Repulsor Brace paired with Destabilizing Rounds is likely to become the most popular roll, the former won’t always be necessary.
Especially for Warlocks, which have on-demand access to Devour, Repulsor Brace’s Void Shields aren’t as necessary. Reconstruction‘s ability to reload Lotus-Eater’s magazine 100% over its normal limit is worth considering as a replacement.
Destabilizing Rounds, on the other hand, is just too good to pass up after the buffs it received in Heresy Act 1. This is the most important perk to get, bar none. If you can get any or all of the above with a Velocity Masterwork, you’ll be laughing.

For PvP, Strategist with Withering Gaze or High Ground is what you’ll want, but to note that Rocket Sidearms are largely considered one of the worst weapon types for competitive play. This is a bonus curio roll worth keeping should you get it and not one worth farming for.
