Grenade launchers that aren’t Area Denial frames struggle to compete for a place in Destiny 2’s Heresy meta, but you’ll be doing your future self a big favor by farming Wild Style right now.
Towards the tail end of 2024, Bungie quietly buffed the Nightfall-exclusive weapon, granting the Double Fire GL a set of new, desirable perks and transforming it into a viable boss DPS machine in the process.
While Solar builds have taken somewhat of a backseat to Arc, Void, and Strand in Episode Heresy and lack Artifact Perk support for now, it’s only a matter of time until Bungie brings them back to relevance. To ensure you’re prepared for that scenario, these are the Wild Style rolls you’ll want to farm until the next weekly reset.

Focusing on PvE first, there are a couple of decisions to make here. For the magazine, Spike Grenades are going to provide more bang for your buck in terms of single-target damage, while Disorienting Grenades offer superior utility at the cost of lower DPS.
For the first perk column, Envious Assassin and Reconstruction are largely interchangeable. Both reload your magazine beyond normal capacity passively when using other equipped weapons. For the second column, Incandescent is the go-to choice if you’re running Solar, otherwise, Bait and Switch or One for All both provide a huge damage boost when cycling through all three weapons.
As expected, PvP is an altogether different beast. Danger Zone‘s increased blast radius when surrounded by enemies will proc often in Crucible and pairs perfectly with Surrounded. Alternatively, Vorpal Weapon is a solid choice to help burn down opposing Guardians in their Super. Ultimately, however, single-barrel Grenade Launchers perform poorly in PvP, so it’s not recommended to go out of your way to farm this roll.
