Destiny 2 Iron Banner schedule: When is Iron Banner next live?

Iron Banner offers Destiny 2 players a unique PvP experience that is only around at specific times of the year, with this set schedule dictating when you get to play.

Dating back to the original Destiny, Iron Banner has been an important part of The Crucible for several years. Only showing up a handful of times per year, the limited-time PvP playlist offers guardians something a little different.

Not only are there unique rewards to earn, including some of the best PvP weapons in the sandbox, but Iron Banner also has exclusive game modes that can’t be found elsewhere. To avoid missing out, use this schedule detailing when the PvP game mode will next go live in The Edge of Fate.

When is the next Iron Banner event?

The next Iron Banner takes place between September 16-23, 2025. This will be the first iteration of the PvP event since Bungie placed it on hiatus in June, before The Edge of Fate’s release.

Upcoming Iron Banner events

Bungie hasn’t outlined a schedule for future Iron Banner events just yet. For now, the only iteration of the event that’s known to be taking place is its September 16-23 fixture.

Finite Impactor

  • Archetype: Solar Hand Cannon
  • Weapon Frame: Adaptive
  • First Column Perks: Iron Grip, Fragile Focus, Heal Clip, Enlightened Action, Slideways, Killing Wind
  • Second Column Perks: Iron Reach, Burning Ambition, Precision Instrument, Rapid Hit, Magnificent Howl, Moving Target

Finite Impactor joined the Iron Banner loot pool with the event’s return in Edge of Fate, and it’s, well, fine? The Hand Cannon doesn’t have any outright bad perks to speak of, but none that stand out, either.

Heal Clip, Precision Instrument, Magnificent Howl, and Moving Target are worth pairing off as you see fit for testing, but they’re not enough to outperform other Adaptives such as Austringer, Judgment, or Exalted Truth.

Worth testing for the sake of variety, but Finite Impactor’s awful base Range stat sadly means it’s likely going to be immediately thrown in players’ Vaults and forgotten.

What is Iron Banner?

Iron Banner is a limited-time PvP game mode that appears twice per episode. Each appearance offers a unique twist on an existing Crucible game mode, or even a unique mode entirely exclusive to Iron Banner.

The main appeal of Iron Banner is the unique weapons you can earn as drops or focus using Iron Engrams. These cannot be earned anywhere else and have been known to creep into the meta in both PvE and PvP, making them particularly desirable.

To learn more about these weapons, check out the section below where we’ve outlined all of the Iron Banner weapons available right now, including those that are featured and legacy weapons from seasons gone by.

All Iron Banner weapons

Traditionally, a handful of the weapons shown below have been obtainable from Lord Saladin by spending Iron Banner Engrams for the duration of each event.

However, we don’t yet know if this will remain the case when it returns in The Edge of Fate. We’ll update this section when the event returns on September 16.
