Barring some fringe cases, SMGs have struggled to maintain relevance in Destiny 2‘s sandbox for some time. Thanks to a shake-up of the meta in Edge of Fate as well as Ash & Iron, though, the weapon type is enjoying a renaissance.
Further encouraging their use, Bungie has gifted Guardians one of the best mid-range guns yet in the form of Seraphine Haze.
Already noteworthy due to its status as one of only a handful of Stasis-element SMGs, this bullet-spewer also boasts incredible base stats and a synergistic perk nowhere else in the weapon type. There’s plenty of options here, so let’s break them down.
Seraphine Haze PvE & PvP god roll – Meta analysis
PvE God Roll | PvP God Roll |
---|---|
Barrel: Chambered Compensator Magazine: Tactical Mag Perk 1: Subsistence or Rimestealer Perk 2: Crystalline Corpsebloom or Attrition Orbs Masterwork: Stability | Barrel: Arrowhead Brake or Corkscrew Rifling Magazine: Accurized Rounds Perk 1: Dynamic Sway Reduction Perk 2: Target Lock Masterwork: Range |
While it’s never going to be the neutral game monster that Multimach CCX was, Seraphine Haze comes close, thanks to its possible Subsistence + Attribtion Orbs combo, allowing for solid add-clear and Super generation.
However, where this compact firearm truly shines is as a Stasis build’s best friend. Crystalline Corpsebloom, a new perk, essentially functions as Headstone for weapons that can’t reliably deal precision damage. Rapid kills will generate Stasis Crystals, which, when paired with Subsistence’s auto reloads, will generate the former frequently, setting up endless Shatter chains.

Alternatively, you can opt for Rimestealer in the first slot over Subsistence for Frost Armor’s synergy with Edge of Fate’s Artifact Mods. Whichever setup you choose, boosting Stability is a must. Normally, we’d discourage Chambered Compensator as a barrel choice, but considering Haze’s already-high Handling, the small reduction there is worth the trade-off for massively increased Stability.
For PvP, you’re locked into the classic Dynamic Sway Reduction + Target Lock combo, which offers the best bang for your buck in accuracy and damage. As usual, you’ll want the all-important Range boosts provided by Accurized Rounds and Range Masterwork to help compete outside of mid-range engagements.

How to get Seraphine Haze
As with most weapons added in Edge of Fate, target farming Seraphine Haze isn’t as straightforward as it could be. Currently, the weapon only drops from Pinnacle Ops activities.
Completing any mission in these categories has a chance to drop Seraphine Haze, but to expedite your farm, be on the lookout for any mission that has the weapon as a featured reward. This will guarantee at least one drop of Seraphine Haze upon completion.
That’s a wrap on everything you need to know about Seraphine Haze, but it’s far from the only weapon dominating Destiny 2 right now. Check out our god roll guides for Everburning Glitz and Unfall for more build ideas.
