Destiny 2‘s newest toy, Synanceia, has a frighteningly powerful god roll worth farming the looter shooter’s returning PvP event for.
First introduced in Episode Heresy, Heavy Metal pits two teams of Guardians against each other as pilots of either Drake Tanks or Fallen Brigs. Unlike the first iteration of the event, which had no exclusive weapons tied to it, this time around, there are two sparkly new tools of destruction worth participating for.
Synanceia is one of these, and it’s instantly become one of the best Swords in the meta. Not only due to an excellent perk pool, but also because it’s classified as New Gear under Edge of Fate’s mechanics overhaul, automatically granting additional damage.
With all of that in mind, here are the rolls you’ll want to be on the lookout for while playing Heavy Metal.
Synanceia PvE & PvP god roll – Meta analysis
PvE God Roll | PvP God Roll |
---|---|
Blade: Tempered Edge Guard: Swordmaster's Guard Perk 1: Relentless Strikes Perk 2: Eager Edge or Elemental Honing Masterwork: Impact | Blade: Honed Edge Guard: Swordmaster's Guard Perk 1: Assassin's Blade or Wellspring Perk 2: Eager Edge Masterwork: Impact |

Right off the bat, you’re going to notice that, yes, this giant slab of metal can roll Eager Edge. As the absolute best mobility perk in Destiny 2, shooting for that perk in the second slot is a no-brainer if you’re looking to speed up your Portal activity farming.
If, on the other hand, you’re only in the market for raw damage, Synanceia has that, too. Taking Elemental Honing over Eager Edge will give you’re DPS output a sizable bump, stacking with Temepered Edge and an Impact Masterwork to deliver massive damage with each swing.
Chuck in Relentless Strikes to improve ammo economy, and you’re looking at one of the best Swords available in PvE. Alternatively, you can opt for Attrition Orbs here, but following nerfs, it’s not worth taking over the former.
For PvP, the only change you’re looking for compared to the PvE god roll is Assassin’s Blade or Wellspring to provide movement speed buffs and ability regen respectively.
Thanks to multi-perk rolls being more plentiful in The Edge of Fate, if you’re able to get a Synanceia with Relentless Strikes and either Assassin’s Blade or Wellspring in the second slot, you’ll have no need for multiple rolls.
