Bungie has spiced up Destiny 2’s penultimate weekly reset of April 2025 by giving players the chance to earn a special Emblem, but you’ll have to act fast.
With Episode Heresy’s story wrapped up and no major update on the cards until Rite of the Nine arrives on May 6, Guardians are using downtime to tie up loose ends. That includes chasing god rolls for Nightfall weapons, reaching the Lighthouse, and even grinding out Gambit.
Right now, we’d recommend prioritizing the first item on that list, as doing so will earn you a spiffy new Emblem in the form of Break Free, available for one week only.
Unlocking Destiny 2’s Break Free Emblem
Completing the Sunless Cell Strike Nightfall Strike on any difficulty between April 22 and April 29, 2025, will make you eligible to earn the Break Free Emblem.
Once that availability window has passed, you’ll be out of luck, at least for the foreseeable future. Bungie didn’t state in its April 17 TWID whether this was a one-time deal, but the method in which it plans to distribute the Emblem leads us to believe that Break Free likely won’t be made available again.
“Granting this one will require a bit of time on our side, as we need to collect the data of everyone that completes a Sunless Cell Nightfall from April 22 10:00 am PT to April 29, 9:59 am PT,” the studio said.
Complete Destiny 2’s Sunless Cell Nightfall on any difficulty between April 22-29 to get the Break Free Emblem.That being the case, don’t be concerned if the Emblem doesn’t appear in your inventory immediately after clearing Sunless Cell. As long as you complete the Strike through the Nightfall submenu under Vanguard Ops, you’re all set.

That’s a wrap on Break Free, but it’s far from the only limited-time Emblem up for grabs in Destiny 2. Knit One Purr Two is available only for the duration of Episode Heresy, although it doesn’t even come close to breaking the top 10 rarest Emblems of all time.
