Disney Dreamlight Valley has announced the return of its Summer event with a shiny new name, Summer Sizzle, introducing new ingredients, recipes, and so much more.
With the solstice over and summer in full swing, Gameloft has announced the arrival of its highly anticipated summer event alongside its Mysteries of Skull Rock update, which added Peter Pan and made The Forgotten a Villager.
So, if you’re looking to find a use for all those Marshmallows you’re finding, or want to craft the items you never got around to making last year (like me), or want to craft some of the new additions, then here’s all you need to know about the DDV Summer Sizzle event.
Summer Sizzle event start date
Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Summer Sizzle event began on July 2 and will run until July 22. That means players have just under three weeks to participate in the event and collect marshmallows.
Where to find Marshmallows
There are two types of marshmallows in the Valley: Pink Marshmallows and Blue Marshmallows. Here’s where to find each kind:
- Pink Marshmallows: On bushes in the Plaza
- Blue Marshmallows: On the floor in the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, Dazzle Beach, Forest of Valor, and Glade of Trust
Once collected, you can either eat them to complete certain duties, use them in recipes, or to craft the event-exclusive items.
Marshmallow companion trick
As spotted by many players already, you can now use your leveled companions to harvest the Marshmallows passively.
Select your monkey companion, or any companion assigned to pick up sweets, and they’ll collect the Marshmallows as you explore, making it much easier to grab the blue ones. Plus, the higher level they are, the more bonuses they get — so you could bag a few more Marshmallows this way.
As with the eggs from the annual Easter event and the Festive Fish available around the winter holidays, Marshmallows are a timed exclusive, so you’ll want to collect plenty so you can keep cooking and crafting with them after the Summer Sizzle event ends.

The End of Summer event also introduced a special new item: the Bonfire Pit. Crafting and placing this will allow you to gather nearby Villagers for a photo, making it perfect for anyone who wants to capture their late-summer bonfire with their favorite Valley friends.
That’s everything to know about the End of Summer event! While hunting around for more Marshmallows, be sure to check out how to unlock all villagers in DDV or all the animals’ favorite foods so you can recruit them as a companion.
