How to get the Slow Cooker in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Tiana from the August free update in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley received a major quality of life feature with the Tales of Agrabah update: the Slow Cooker.

Taking care of the Valley is no easy task. With all the gardening, fishing, villager chit-chatting, and cooking you’ve got to do, it’s no wonder the Oasis Retreat Star Path‘s theme is centered around spas and relaxation.

Thanks to the Slow Cooker, one of those tasks can be ticked off your list as you can batch cook passively while you tend to more pressing matters in the Valley.

How to unlock the Slow Cooker in DDV

To get the Slow Cooker in DDV, complete the quest Slow and Steady you receive from Tiana after installing the Tales of Agrabah update. This quest requires that you cook three Gumbo meals using the Slow Cooker and bring it back to Tiana.

Step 1: Speak to Tiana to receive the Slow Cooker & Gumbo recipes

First, open the map and locate Tiana to begin the quest. Track her location and hear her out to find out she wants you to learn how to batch cook.

To do so, you must first learn the Gumbo recipe by opening the inventory and selecting the Gumbo recipe blue book. Then, you must craft your first Slow Cooker.

Step 2: Craft a Slow Cooker

To craft the Slow Cooker, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 2500 Dreamlight: Obtained by completing Dreamlight duties, Milestone tasks, and crafted via Dream Shards.
  • 6 Iron Ingot: Crafted with 5 Iron Ore and 1 Coal Ore.
  • 2 Tinkering Parts: Crafted with 2 Iron ingots.
  • 20 Hardwood: Foraged in the Sunlit Plateau, Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, and Frosted Heights.

Once you’ve gathered all the required resources, head to the nearest crafting station, select the Functional Items tab, and pick the Slow Cooker recipe.

Step 3: Cook three Gumbo and wait

To use the Slow Cooker, you must first select the ingredients:

  • 2 Okra: Grown from Okra Seeds, which Goofy sells in his Glade of Trust Stall.
  • 2 Shrimp: Caught by fishing in the white ripples in Dazzle Beach.
  • 2 Chili Peppers: Grown from Chili Pepper seeds, which Goofy sells in his Sunlit Plateau Stall.
  • 2 Tomatoes: Grown from Tomato seeds, which Goofy sells in his Dazzle Beach Stall.
  • 2 Onions: Grown from Onion seeds, which Goofy sells in his Forest of Valor Stall.

Or, thanks to the convenient Cooking Filter, you can just look for the Gumbo recipe and auto select the ingredients.

The second step is to select how many Gumbo plates you want to cook. To complete Slow and Steady, you’ll need to cook three. It’ll take almost four minutes for each dish, so you can just close this window as you go on about your business in the Valley. Perhaps you can start completing some Star Path duties until the Slow Cooker is done.
