How to do a low driven shot in EA FC 25

EA FC 25 features five different shot types, but not all of them, including the low driven shot, are listed in the game’s controls.

As the name suggests, a low driven shot travels fast along the ground instead of in the air. This shot can be especially tricky for goalkeepers because they have to dive down and extend their arms instead of just reaching up to block an attempt on goal.

In FIFA 17, taking low driven shots was the best way to score, as goalkeepers usually couldn’t react in time to prevent the ball from firing into the far-post corner. However, the shot hasn’t been nearly as effective since then.

In FC 25, for example, finesse shots and power shots are the two most popular techniques for scoring goals consistently. However, on March 10, EA introduced a new PlayStyle, restoring low driven shots to their former glory.

Taking a low-driven shot is simple, but messing up is easy if you don’t do the input correctly.

  1. Press the shoot button (O on PlayStation or B on Xbox)
  2. Release the shoot button before the power bar reaches one-and-a-half bars

It will be a regular shot if you hold the shoot button for too long.

When to perform a low driven shot in EA FC 25

Low driven shots work best in the box, and you should always aim for the far post, as goalkeepers have an easier time saving them at the near post.

You can try these shots from outside the box, but they are far less likely to go in from long range unless. In Ultimate Team, players have the Low Driven Shot PlayStyle; they are more accurate, the ball travels faster, and the animation is quicker.

The new PlayStyle is an excellent addition, though players should also be aware of its shortcomings before regularly using this type of shot.
