Cop delivers pizza for terrified delivery driver as massive gator blocks customer’s driveway

A police officer stepped in after a pizza delivery driver was too frightened to bring a pie to a customer’s front door, seeing as it was being blocked by a massive alligator.

Gators are a common sight in Florida, where they’re most often spotted chilling out in rivers, lakes, marches and bayous… but sometimes, these prehistoric-looking critters venture into folks’ backyards, or in this case, their driveways.

In March 2025, a video went viral on social media when a gator decided to hang out in an elderly woman’s driveway in Bradenton, Florida — right after she’d ordered a pizza to be delivered to her home.

According to reports, the gator was around eight feet long, and its presence in a residential area prompted a call to the police to have it removed.

Police officer steps in to deliver pizza after gator gets in the way

After phoning Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Department to handle the animal, officer Tolson made his way to the house to check things out, where he encountered a delivery driver about to drop off a pizza.

“I’m a little scared,” she admitted with a nervous laugh after being warned about the gator lurking around. “Do you wanna do it, officer?”

Despite a neighbor calling her to warn her about the gator, the unwitting customer didn’t get the memo and walked outside to get her pizza — only for the officer to shout at her to get back inside due to the giant animal hiding out under her car.

“Oh my heavens!” she exclaimed. “There’s a big alligator under my car!”

Eventually, she finally went to her back door to retrieve the pizza, delivered by the patient police officer who even took a photo of the beast with the woman’s phone so she wouldn’t endanger herself.

A few moments later, the wildlife department successfully trapped and relocated the ambling alligator.

This isn’t the first time a gator has taken over social media; in summer 2024, a Florida man went viral for opening his beer can with a tooth from a wild alligator. That’s a new way to crack open a cold one!
