Twitch streamers including Pokimane, Jasonthween, xQc, and Ludwig have reacted to the ongoing murder investigation involving musician and former streamer d4vd, after the body of Celeste Rivas was discovered in his car.

Pokimane, who previously appeared on stream with d4vd alongside Jasontheween, addressed the situation on social media after saying she had received lots of messages about it.

“I’m as shocked and disturbed as everyone else finding this out. Hoping justice will be served soon. My thoughts & prayers are with the victim’s family.”

Jasonthween unfollows d4vd

Jasonthween, who previously had interactions with d4vd, no longer follows him on Instagram.

However, in a previous stream with Ludwig, he had defended d4vd, saying he was not a murderer.

“He didn’t do it,” Jason said. “He literally performed the next day. If he was a suspect, the police would have been after him.”

d4vd has also been unfollowed by Fortnite’s social media accounts. The singer had recently collaborated with Epic Games for in-game items including an emote and created the game’s first official anthem, on September 3.

Ludwig on d4vd’s alleged connection

Ludwig has addressed d4vd’s reported association with Rivas, saying during a stream that the two “clearly knew each other intimately.”

“This news [of her death] broke on her birthday, and he clearly knew her very intimately… Like, even if he did not have any hand in murdering her, that’s psychopathic, to not like, you know, clearly, this person was a part of your life.”

He also added that he thinks d4vd is “an evil pedophile,” but later said he would wait for the police investigation to be carried out before speaking about the situation further.

xQc highlights coincidence

xQc pointed out what he described as an “insane coincidence,” noting that d4vd’s breakout track “Romantic Homicide” was released on the same day as Rivas’ birthday. He said the timing raised questions for him, though he admitted it could be by chance.

He later found out the video was actually “premiered” that day, confounding his belief.

“It’s even worse – the video was premiered on that day, which means it had to be set ahead of time. That means that they could have set up the video for days or weeks, and they chose that date deliberately. That is much different than just having an upload.”

The investigation into the death of Celeste Rivas and d4vd’s involvement remains active. Police have not released further details beyond confirming the discovery of Rivas’ body in his vehicle.
