Joe Rogan told to “shut up” after rival podcaster knocks him off Spotify top spot

Joe Rogan has been told to “shut up” by a rival podcaster after his JRE Podcast was knocked off top spot on the Spotify charts.

When Joe Rogan signed an exclusive deal with Spotify, many fans wondered what it would mean for his standing in the podcast world. Not being on multiple platforms has hurt many shows in the past.

That deal has since ended, with Rogan’s show now being published across different platforms again, including both Apple Podcasts and YouTube. Yet, it hasn’t hurt his standing on Spotify at all.

The Joe Rogan Experience continues to be one of the top podcasts on the streaming platform, regularly topping the charts. However, there are times where he is knocked off that top spot, typically by a new show or a podcast that has a massive guest on.

At the end of March, Rogan was knocked off his perch by comedian Amy Poehler, as her new show, ‘Good Hang with Amy Poehler’, was finally launched.

The Parks and Recreation star held that spot for a little while before Rogan reclaimed it. However, during her late April appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast, Poehler took a subtle shot at the UFC commentator.

“She’s already podcasting royalty. Not even a month into the game, and she’s number one in the land. Good Hang on Spotify,” Podcast host Bowen Yang said, introducing Poehler. “Hey, Joe Rogan, shut up,” his co-host Matt Rogers said, with Poehler appearing to nod and pray after that statement.

As noted, The JRE podcast has since reclaimed the number one spot on the Spotify charts. In recent weeks, he has traded it with Theo Von’s podcast and Crime Junkie.
