A woman from Moscow is going viral on Russian social media after selling her soul for just $1,000, which she used to buy Labubu dolls and a concert ticket.

Plenty of folks have joked about ‘selling their soul’ for one reason or another, be it a million dollars, a once-in-a-lifetime experience, trips abroad, or even $5 from Milhouse — but one woman actually did it.

As first reported by Mash on Telegram, a Moscow-based marketing specialist named Dmitry decided to play a “prank” online by asking if any of his followers were interested in signing over their souls for 100,000 rubles (around $1,180 USD).

“Who is ready to sell their soul for 100,000 rubles to a [redacted] card? Officially, with a contract and signed in blood,” the post read.

At first, Dmitry said it was merely a joke, but things quickly spiraled out of control when a woman actually took him up on his offer.

26-year-old Karina signed her soul over to Dmitry in a legitimate, physical contract that she signed with her own blood. In exchange, she got a little over one grand, which she quickly spent on a collection of Labubu dolls and a concert ticket to see Russian folk-pop singer Nadezhda Kadysheva.

Dmitry posted photos of Karina posing with her bloody signature on social media, remarking that he felt like “Davy Jones” from Pirates of the Caribbean, who notoriously carved out his heart in exchange for immortality, sailing the seas and ferrying souls into the afterlife.

“Bought my first soul. The contract is signed in blood. I feel like Davy Jones, no less!” he wrote in celebration of the deal.

The matter has gone so viral that it even attracted the attention of the Russian Orthodox Church, who condemned Karina for selling her soul for a paltry $1K.

“This is no joke,” the Church said, per Mash and other local news outlets. “Karina really did sell her soul — that is, she chose the side of evil. In the future, the official sinner may experience moral and personal decline, illness, suffering and even death.

“Dmitry also joked too much. In the Orthodox interpretation, he is now Satan, since he bought a soul. The church advises both of them to come to their senses and go to church — to realize and admit their mistake and sincerely repent.”

This might be the wildest thing we’ve ever seen anyone do for Labubu. The mischievous character has absolutely taken over pop culture this year, with travelers even buying insurance policies to protect their investments while sightseeing abroad.
