Apple’s latest iPhone update, iOS 26, features a new “Liquid Glass” design alongside a new naming scheme. Here’s what devices will receive the massive update.

The Cupertino, California-based company revealed iOS 26 back in June 2025 alongside its new naming scheme and a design upgrade.

Available alongside the release of the iPhone Air and the new iPhone 17 devices, Apple’s new OS features its more transparent ‘Liquid Glass’ design upgrade.

When does iOS 26 release?

According to Apple, iOS 26 will fully release on Monday, September 15, 2025. The exact time is unknown, but the company often pushes their updates around 1pm EST.

The release of iOS 26 removes Apple’s entire 10th generation lineup – the XR, XS, and XS Max. On top of that, any of the newer Apple Intelligence features like Visual Intelligence, writing tools, and live translation will only be available on the iPhone 15 Pro lineup and newer.
