Day one recap: Didychrislito hits double figures to set a marker
eMLS Cup has seen its fair share of shocks over the years, but day one of the 2021 finals was pretty much business as usual. Only CisseSZN fell to a shock exit after beaten in extra-time by Godfather by a 3-2 scoreline. In the opening game, AlanAvi continued his form from the Last Chance Qualifier. He got off to an absolute flyer, easing past PhilB94 by a 5-2 scoreline. The Toronto FC man mounted a comeback in leg two but it was in vain as the damage was done. Following them, Doolsta overcame Kid M3mito in the battle of former champions with the Nashville SC man taking home the victory with the 3-1 scoreline.
In a more opening affair, Sporting KC’s Alekzandur handed out a lesson in attack, walking all over the Fiddle with a 7-4 aggregate victory. The FC Cincinnati man made it respectable in the end, but Alek was in fine form. A closer game followed as Godfather provided the only shock of the day, defeating CisseSZN and setting up a quarter-finals match-up with his brother, KingCJ. In the first of two quarter-finals on the day, reigning champion Adamou saw off Doolsta in a close tie, as the Nashville SC man wouldn’t lie down. Though, that wasn’t the case for Didychrislito. He completely walked all over AlanAvi, hitting double figures and showing why he’s everyone’s favorite to win it all. https://twitter.com/UltimateTeamUK/status/1373357447486791690 https://twitter.com/FutWatch/status/1373421252199731204 https://twitter.com/UltimateTeamUK/status/1373435531200188421 March 21 results

On day two of eMLS Cup action, Los Angeles Galaxy’s Godfather continued his stunning run of form, taking down KingCJ and completing the eliminations of the Diop brothers after claiming Cisse’s scalp on day one. In the fourth and final quarter-final, xBleU held on to and stifled the offensive juggernaut of Alekzandur, progressing to the semi-finals after a 3-2 win.

However, the cinderella stories for both players ended there. Godfather was matched up against eventual finalist Adamou, and despite pushing him all the way, the defending eMLS Cup champion managed to secure the win, and a meeting with Didychrislito in the final. Chris had managed to continue xBleU’s semi-finals hoodoo, making sure he didn’t progress to the final all season long. That meant he’d also secured a battle for New York final as well, with NYCFC claiming the bragging rights as Chris ran out a 6-4 winner. https://twitter.com/FutWatch/status/1373742271309418499 https://twitter.com/UltimateTeamUK/status/1373778257535963145 https://twitter.com/UltimateTeamUK/status/1373787072289472513
