The Big Mac may be McDonald’s classic, but the chain’s latest heavyweight burger is finally making its way stateside.
Launched in Portugal in July 2024, the Big Arch quickly spread to Canada and Germany before reaching the UK, Ireland, and France in 2025. The burger has become one of McDonald’s fastest-growing international hits.
Stacked with two quarter-pound patties, three slices of white cheese, crispy onions, slivered onions, pickles, lettuce, and Big Arch Sauce on a sesame and poppy seed bun, the Big Arch is billed as a premium option that goes beyond the Double Quarter Pounder.
According to the McDonald’s app, the burger is just $7.99 for just the sandwich or $10.99 if you want fries and a drink.

US launch starts in Chicago
For now, American customers can only try the Big Arch at McDonald’s Headquarters restaurant in Chicago as part of its International menu. It’s not a nationwide release, but the company has hinted at broader expansion.
“The pilot of our larger burger offering, Big Arch, now in three international markets, Portugal, Germany, and Canada, shows that we’re listening to consumer tastes and delivering,” said McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski during an earnings call. “We’ll work with franchisees and partners to deploy the Big Arch faster into more international markets in 2025.”
McDonald’s said the burger’s strong reception abroad has accelerated its rollout, leaving the door open for more U.S. locations in the future.
It wouldn’t be the first new burger to be released in 2025 if it goes nationwide before the end of the year. McDonald’s rolled out the Daily Double back in July, and made its combo meal just six bucks.
