DexertoFortnite hasn’t hosted an April Fools’ Day event in seven years, but that’s all changed with the 34.21 update.
This patch has not only revived its April Fools’ tradition but also introduced iconic Mortal Kombat content, including Scorpion’s arrival, his powerful Kombat Kit Mythic weapon, the First Blood Medallion, and three new Mortal Kombat-themed map locations.

Fortnite downtime for April 1 update
Fortnite servers are online and working after completing scheduled downtime, which went live on April 1 at 1 AM PT | 4 AM ET | 9 AM BST. This lasted two hours.
Unlike the usual Tuesday updates that roll out seamlessly every week to introduce minor tweaks like new Weekly or Story Quests, NPC adjustments, or small weapon pool changes, this one has included server downtime as it is much bigger.

April Fools quests
Epic has released a series of special April Fools Day quests for you to complete and earn yourself some XP. Here’s every April Fools quest in Fortnite:
- Place anything but first (1)
- Break open chests instead of searching them (3)
- Touch grass (60)
- Drive safely on the road for 100 meters (100)
- Land over here and over there (2)
- Find the coolest player on the Island (1)
- Drive safely on the road for 100 meters

Scorpion’s Kombat Kit Mythic and First Blood Medallion
Epic GamesResurrected for revenge and bound by honor, the ninja specter Scorpion is a threat to any mortal. If you manage to defeat this Character coming to the Island April 1, you’ll be rewarded with his Mythic Scorpion’s Kombat Kit and the First Blood Medallion.
When the First Blood Medallion is equipped, it causes your first shot out of your gun magazine to trigger an explosion upon hitting an enemy.

Land Scorpion’s Spear from the Kombat Kit to hook enemies in, then let loose a series of combo attacks to FINISH THEM! The Medallion will make your first shot from any weapon’s magazine explode when it hits an enemy.
Mortal Kombat POI locations
Get over here! The standard version of Scorpion’s Kombat Kit is also dropping April 1 and will be found in Chests around the Island. Scorpion himself will be found at one of the three new landmarks arriving on the map April 1: The Pit, The Living Forest, and The Dead Pool.
If you fall in the green acid at The Dead Pool location, you will die by being melted by the pool of acid.
Mortal Kombat quests
Epic GamesUnlocking April 1 at 9 AM ET, put your skills to the test with new Quests based on Klassic Kombat! You’ll be rewarded 30,000 XP apiece for completing each of the Quests below, with more Quests becoming progressively available:
- Hit 10 players with Ice Slide
- Deal 500 damage to players while on the bridge at The Pit
- Shatter 5 players’ Shield beyond 10 meters
- Collect the First Blood Medallion in 2 different matches
- Hit an opponent with both a Kombat Kit air kick and uppercut within 5 seconds
- Defeat Scorpion while carrying Sub-Zero’s Kombat Kit
