Godzilla’s spawn rate has been nerfed once again before the end of the Godzilla x Kong event in Fortnite. Here’s what players need to know.
Godzilla invaded Fortnite Island on Friday, January 17, introducing a new set of unique quests and a boss encounter that instantly blew players away.
To become the King of the Monsters, players must find the ‘Godzilla Portal’ and hop inside it. The first person to enter the portal will assume the role of the menacing Kaiju, while everyone else on the map tries to take him down.
In addition, there are several quests tied to Godzilla’s arrival – some center on tracking him, others revolve around fighting him, and three can only be completed when playing as the monster.
Here is what Fortnite users should know about the chances of seeing Godzilla spawn.
What is the spawn rate for Godzilla in Fortnite?
Godzilla now spawns in 60% of Fortnite matches. The portals previously had a 100% spawn rate, guaranteeing the kaiju’s appearance in every Battle Royale match.
However, on January 27, Epic announced a temporary nerf via a post to their Fortnite Status Twitter/X account. They also confirmed that this reduction will only last a few days, with Godzilla returning to every match for one final day on January 31 before his ultimate departure.
Once you have found one of the seven portal locations on the map, you will need to be the first player in the match to jump inside the special teleport to become Godzilla.
Godzilla spawn rate history
Although the appearance of Godzilla portals may have seemed completely random throughout, Epic has adjusted their spawn rate multiple times since the kaiju first stormed onto the Battle Royale island on January 17 for the Godzilla x Kong event.
The titan’s spawn rate initially stood at just 20% but was later increased to 40%. On January 24, developers confirmed a significant buff, guaranteeing the kaiju’s appearance in every match and boosting its overall health.
