MrSavage eliminated an opponent during a Fortnite match with his monitor being over 1km away, receiving a Guinness World Record for the feat.

The Twitch streamer with over 4 million followers and former Fortnite pro, who announced his retirement from competing on March 16, teamed up with Red Bull for the challenge.

MrSavage breaks Fortnite record for all-time kill distance

MrSavage revealed his Fortnite world record attempt on March 22 in a YouTube video titled ‘I DID THE LONGEST ELIMINATION IN GAMING (IN REAL LIFE).’

he started with a standard setup at 30cm, with his headphones, keyboard, and mouse positioned at a normal distance. After successfully eliminating his first enemy, he gradually increased the distance after each kill, reaching 3m, 15m, and 500m.

MrSavage began using binoculars to target the monitor at 500m, “I mean guys I can’t believe we are even trying this,” he said, before getting the kill using the screen situated across a large body of water.

“Lets get it to over 1km,” he expressed, as the final distance rose to 1,161.31m away, on a snowy bit of land even further across the water. “This is actually really hard, I can’t see anything,” the streamer expressed.

After various attempts and it visibly changed from daytime to nighttime, MrSavage eventually eliminated an opponent during a match. “Yes! Come on!” he celebrated, as the surrounding crowd cheered.

Shortly after, he was then rewarded with the Guinness World Record and the certificate for “The longest distance elimination in Fortnite using a telescope” of 1,161.31m.

Fortnite shattered several player count records in 2023, all without the need to brave the cold Norwegian weather. In particular, Epic Games called it the ‘biggest day in Fortnite’s history’ when the launch of Season OG caused over 44 million players to play in just one day.
