Best Borderlands 4 settings for PC and console

Borderlands 4 settings

Kairos is a dangerous place in Borderlands 4, so if you want to survive, you’re going to need to run the best graphics, controller, and FOV settings to keep things running smoothly.

There are plenty of ways of gaining an upper hand in Borderlands 4, whether it’s using SHiFT codes to earn free skins or putting together the best build for your hunter. But none of that matters if your settings aren’t up to scratch, as you’ll find yourself battling the game itself as well as Psychos.

So, whether you’re playing on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S, here are the best settings to get the most out of the experience.

When it comes to the graphics settings, it all depends on how powerful your PC is. If you’re on a top-of-the-line rig, you can probably get away with cranking up some more settings to very high to make Borderlands 4 look as beautiful as possible.

However, players have struggled with FPS drops since launch, so we’ve turned down options like Reflection Quality and Volumetric Fog to keep the game running smoothly. If you’re still running into issues, feel free to adjust them further.

For the most part, settings like sensitivity are down to personal preference. That being said, movement can feel a little sluggish on the default options, especially if you’re used to shooters like CoD, so we recommend raising it slightly to make fights feel snappier.

Borderlands 4 puts more emphasis on movement than any other game in the series, so if you’re a controller player, you’ll want to adjust the deadzones to the maximum possible values. This allows for more precise jumping and dashing, which is vital in some of the tougher boss fights.

However, if you run into stick drift, be sure to go back in and bring the deadzone down until the issue is resolved.

How to change Borderlands 4 FOV settings

If you’re playing PC, you can adjust the FOV slider by heading into the Settings menu and to the Visuals tab. From there, you can move the slider up and down to make more or less of the world visible on your screen at any given time.

However, if you’re playing on PlayStation or Xbox, there is currently no option to change your FOV. This will no doubt be disappointing fans on console, but there’s every chance it could be introduced in a future update.
