Cling to Blindness is an upcoming horror game, where you need to solely rely on audio cues to survive.

There are many factors that contribute to what makes a horror game terrifying. To some, perhaps it’s having to deal with the jumpscares or eerie lore that’s enough to send chills up your spine

Other times, though, the fear itself comes from technology that makes the experience even more creepy, like letting the monster see you through your webcam or copying your teammates’ moves and voices

But sometimes, simply not knowing everything is the scariest thing of all. Cling to Blindness embraces that idea fully. In this game, you play blindfolded, relying only on sound to survive, with nothing on your screen to guide you.

Developed by Lizardy, Cling to Blindness follows the story of Satsuki, who has to complete a ritual in an abandoned village. As seen in the game’s trailer and description, there are essentially three “rules” players must follow.

The first one is to never take off your blindfold. Next, do not let Ashioto catch up to you. Lastly, you’ll need to collect all five talismans.

Gameplay is entirely audio-driven. You’ll listen for in-game cues while navigating with your mouse. The game plays from a first-person perspective, where left-click moves you forward and moving your mouse shifts your view, letting you locate where sounds are coming from.

Playing with headphones is recommended for the best experience. And while you could technically skip the blindfold, it wouldn’t change much. The game has no traditional visuals on screen anyway.

According to devs, this game has no sudden jump scares given the nature of it being a sound-driven experience that’s designed to be “playable” for those who aren’t a fan of traditional horror games.

“However, if you begin to feel unwell, we recommend you stop playing the game immediately,” they added.

Cling to Blindness is already listed as “Coming Soon” at the time of writing on Steam. Though those who attend Tokyo Game Show 2025 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, from September 25 to 28, 2025, will be able to play the demo early and obtain a special-themed blindfold, according to FinalWeapon.
