How to cook in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Before you get started with cooking in DDV, you’ll want to ensure you’ve got a stockpile of Coal Ore on you, as you’ll need one as well as the required ingredients each time you cook a recipe. With those in tow, follow these steps to whip up your next meal:

  • First, locate a cooking station and interact with it by pressing the corresponding button prompt that appears onscreen (‘E’ on PC, for example).
    • If you’re unsure where to find a station, Remy’s Ratatouille realm in the Dream Castle has a station, as does Chez Remy.

  • You’ll then enter the cooking interface which will display all of your available recipes on the left side of the screen. From here, click on the recipe you’d like to cook.
    • Dishes are rated on a scale from 1 star to 5 stars. The rating corresponds with the number of ingredients required for the recipe.

    • From this panel, click and drag each one, dropping it into the cooking pot.

  • Once you’ve added all required ingredients to the cooking pot, and have ensured you have at least one Coal Ore available, click the “Start Cooking” button to begin preparing the dish.
    • This action will consume the Coal Ore.

  • With that done, you’ll get a popup showing the completed item, and an indicator of the items that have been used. Your cooked meal can now be found in your inventory.

And that’s it — all you need to do in order to get cooking. While a standard cooking station only allows you to craft one of an item at a time, if you own the A Rift in Time DLC, an Ancient Cooker can also be crafted to help automate the process of cooking and make multiples of an item at once.
