Does the First Berserker: Khazan have difficulty settings?

The First Berserker Khazan

First Berserker: Khazan is a new action-adventure game with Soulslike elements, but here’s everything you need to know about how tough it is – and if it can be made easier.

Releasing on the same day as the Soulslike game AI Limit, First Berserker: Khazan is another adventure that borrows heavily from FromSoftware’s legendary series. However, the experience has more in common with games like Darksiders than the average Souls game.

Soulslikes are known for their punishing difficulty and generally don’t feature options to make the game easier, so with that being said, here’s the lowdown on whether this adventure has an easy mode or not.

First Beserker gameplay
The First Berserker: Khazan may be a Soulslike game, but it has an easy mode for casual players.

Does First Berserker: Khazan have easy mode?

Yes, First Berserker: Khazan does have an easy mode.

This can be used anytime by entering the game’s options screens and changing the Accessibility setting from Normal to Easy.

However, if you do change the difficulty to easy, you’ll be unable to change it back.

You’ll also be unable to unlock ‘The Expert’s Journey’ Trophy/Achievement – something that is only obtainable after beating the game on Normal.

Best difficulty settings to use

Playing the game on Normal difficulty is the intended and best way to experience First Berserker: Khazan. The game is designed to be challenging, like most Soulslikes, so this is the best way to truly feel that sense of accomplishment games like this offer to those who conquer them.

However, an Easy setting was added for those who just want to relax and enjoy the story. So if that’s what you want to do, and you don’t care about Trophies/Achievements, then switch it to Easy play the game however you wish.

There’s absolutely no harm in beating the game on Easy, and then progressing to the tougher difficulties after this, too.
