Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave is a brand-new chapter in Nintendo’s long-standing tactics series, and it boasts a fresh story, new heroes, and expanded tactical battles designed for the Switch 2.
Nintendo has officially revealed Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave, the next mainline entry in the strategy RPG series, during the September 12 Nintendo Direct. The game is in development for Switch 2 and scheduled to launch in 2026.
The announcement trailer showcased a new cast of heroes caught in a sprawling conflict, blending the tactical grid-based combat the series is known for with improved graphics that take advantage of the Switch 2’s upgraded hardware.
Players can expect more detailed battlefields, improved battle animations, alongside the series’ traditional mix of permadeath and support bonds.
Nintendo described Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave as an “intertwining story” set in a world defined by the Heroic Games, a gladiatorial-style tournament where warriors battle for the chance to claim a wish from the Divine Sovereign. The trailer showcased fighters from across the realm clashing in the arena, each driven by their own ambitions and destinies.
While a final release date was not provided, the game will launch worldwide in 2026, with further details set to be revealed in the coming months.
