A Geometry Dash streamer has suffered what fans are calling the worst fail in the game’s history, dying on the very last input of its hardest level.
Geometry Dash has long been infamous for its brutal, precision-based gameplay. The rhythm platformer, first released in 2013, has spawned a competitive community that designs levels so challenging they’re considered “humanly impossible.” Flamewall, a fan-made map that stretches for over seven minutes, stands at the very top. No player has ever managed to beat it.
For months, Twitch streamer cuatrocientosgd has been attempting that exact climb. Grinding two to three hours at a time and slowly pushing his completion percentage further and further, he has set his sights on being the first to conquer Flamewall and etching his name into Geometry Dash history.
The worst fail in Geometry Dash history
That moment seemed within reach during a recent broadcast, when cuatrocientosgd reached the final seconds of the level. His heart rate, tracked live on stream, surged to 190 bpm as he approached the end. But in a crushing twist, he mistimed the very last input, instantly failing and triggering the death screen which showed he had reached the 99% completion point.
Viewers quickly labeled it the worst fail in Geometry Dash’s history. The streamer broke down into tears, audibly wailing before cutting the broadcast short.
Still, the devastating loss hasn’t stopped him. Just one day later, cuatrocientosgd was back live on Twitch, continuing to hammer away at the so-called impossible level. Since then, he’s streamed Flamewall eight more times, determined to finish what he so narrowly missed.
Whether he becomes the first human to ever complete the map remains to be seen, but his near-miss has already cemented itself as an unforgettable piece of Geometry Dash history.
