Hollow Knight: Silksong launch crashes Steam, Xbox, PlayStation & Nintendo stores

Hollow Knight: Silksong

The age of Silksong has finally arrived, bringing an end to the speculation and allowing thousands to buy the highly anticipated release… well, if the platforms could handle it.

It’s no secret that Hollow Knight: Silksong has been a highly anticipated game. Since it was announced, thousands have been eagerly awaiting its release.

Well, as of September 4, it’s here, and since fans couldn’t pre-order the adventure, they’ve all gone to purchase the game at the same time, crashing not one, but three major platforms.

Silksong release met with crashing platforms

Just minutes after the game was released, Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and now the Nintendo Store have all crashed, meaning players aren’t able to buy Silksong.

Steam completely crashed, stopping players from buying any game and showcasing an error message for a wave of fans.

Xbox seemed to handle the onslaught but appears to be a little spotty, showing the game, yet not allowing some fans to purchase it, while for others, it’s completely crashing. The same is happening on PlayStation, too.

Nintendo isn’t immune either, as players have also been reporting that the store page on their Switch isn’t loading at all.

So, while Silksong is certainly the most anticipated game of the year, it seems fans are still struggling to play it. But at least it’s finally here, when you can actually get the chance to buy it.
