Hollow Knight: Silksong release date & launch times

Team Cherry’s debut hit Hollow Knight took the indie scene by storm in 2017, and fans have been clamoring for more ever since. Now, the long-awaited sequel Silksong is finally set to launch in 2025 – and we have a confirmed release date and launch times.

A Metroidvania at heart, Hollow Knight and its upcoming successor draw inspiration from other subgenres, including Soulslikes, to deliver a unique, tough-as-nails adventure rich with exploration and world-building.

First unveiled on February 14, 2019, Silksong was initially planned as DLC for the original game before evolving into a full-blown sequel. News since then has been scarce, but the tide finally shifted with fresh gameplay footage shown during the Summer Game Fest 2025 and confirmation of the release date during Gamescom.

Hollow Knight: Silksong comes out on September 4, 2025.

This was revealed via a Special Announcement shared during Gamescom in which we got the September 4 release date and a view of more gameplay.

Additionally, despite all the hype behind it, Silksong is confirmed to be just $19.99 USD | €19.99 | ¥2300 upon release. It’ll also be a day 1 Game Pass title.

The fated release trailer arrived during Gamescom 2025, announcing the highly anticipated release date as well as a few glimpses at the gameplay.

During Gamescom 2025, we got an extended gameplay trailer for Hollow Knight Silksong, including plenty of fights and the classic movement.

As we mentioned earlier, Hollow Knight: Silksong was revealed to the world in February 2019, courtesy of its debut trailer. A new world, protagonist, tons of debuting enemies, bosses, and content were shown off.
