Hollow Knight: Silksong isn’t an easy game, but that hasn’t stopped players from speed running it, and one has reached a record speed.
Since the game was released on September 4, players have struggled with its punishing boss fights. In fact, it was so intense that it prompted Team Cherry to release a patch shortly after the game dropped to nerf some of the toughest bosses.
But while most players are still finding their footing, the speedrunning community has already pushed the game to record-breaking limits. Now, a renowned speed runner has smashed yet another world record.
New Silksong Any% world record set by Blue Goes Fast
Speedrunner Blue Goes Fast has claimed the new Hollow Knight: Silksong Any% world record with an incredible time of 1:03:41.
The run was uploaded to YouTube and immediately recognized as the fastest completion of the game so far.
Interestingly, the previous world record, also held by Blue, stood at 1:08:15. That five-minute gap shows just how quickly strategies are evolving in the game’s first weeks, with players perfecting their movement, boss fights, and resource management.
Blue announced the achievement on X, writing, “Silksong Any% Speedrun world record in 1:03:41!! AHHH, this run was insanely good, I’m so proud of it. And what an incredible game this is to speedrun.” They followed up with a tease that the next milestone could arrive soon: “sub 1 hour soon.”
The timing of the record is just as impressive as the run itself. Silksong only launched on September 4, which means the game has been available for just under two weeks. Breaking a world record this quickly is an extremely challenging feat.
But it doesn’t look like they’re stopping there, as we could be seeing sub-1-hour runs pretty soon.
