If you’ve finished Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and want more medieval Bohemian action, The Witcher creator Andrzej Sakpowski wrote the perfect trilogy you need to read next.
Years before Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Sapkowski published the Hussite Trilogy, a historical fantasy series set in 15th-century Poland and the Czech Republic. Fans of the Witcher books shouldn’t need any more convincing – he considers the trilogy his “best work to date.”
With no word on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3 yet, if you’re looking to spend more time in medieval Bohemia and learn about the Hussite Wars that follow, you need to check out this series from the Witcher creator.
What is The Hussite Trilogy about?
Andrzej Sapkowski’s Hussite Trilogy is set in 15th-century Europe during the Hussite Wars, 22 years after Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
It’s historical fantasy, with the first book taking place in an alternate version of Silesia, a region of Poland that crosses into the Czech Republic and Germany. In this reality, there are monsters and magicians, so fans of The Witcher will feel right at home.

After the protagonist, Reinmar of Bielau (Reynevan), is caught in bed with someone he really shouldn’t be, he’s forced to flee his home. On his adventures, he visits plenty of real-life locations and meets historical figures like the famous Polish knight, Zawisza the Black.
The Tower of Fools is the first book in the trilogy, followed by Warriors of God and Light Perpetual. The English translations have been out for a few years now, so you can jump straight into the novels or audiobooks.
Why Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 players need to read it
Aside from being a great story that’s often considered even better than The Witcher books, the Hussite Trilogy gives a further look into 15th-century Bohemia, a period rarely covered in fiction. It’s a favorite of Daniel Vávra, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s director, who recommended the series on Twitter/X.
