Dexerto / NeteaseStorm is one of Marvel Rivals‘ most versatile Duelist characters, but only if you play her correctly and understand her abilities.
If you’re looking to grab a powerful DPS that can take to the skies and destroy enemies with ease, then you’ll probably take a shine to Storm.
Using the power of wind and lightning to make her enemies’ lives hell, Storm can fly freely around the battlefield and use powerful attacks while buffing your teammates with movement speed and damage increases.
Storm Stats in Marvel Rivals
Dexerto / Netease- Class: Duelist
- Health: 250
- Movement Speed: 6m/s
Compared to Duelists like Wolverine, Storm’s health is pretty low, as is her movement speed. However, her ability to fly offsets this perfectly, allowing you to deal incredible damage from a distance, while your Vanguards keep the enemy occupied.
Season 1.5 meta changes
Storm’s seen a fair few changes in the Season 1.5 patch. Namely, she has a few buffs, with the damage falloff of her Wind Blade at 30 meters being changed from 70% to 60%. On top of this, the damage increase for allies within range of her Weather Control has been increased from 5% to 10%.
However, she’s also received multiple nerfs. Her damage increase from Thunder during Weather Control has dropped to 12% from 16%. Then, Storm’s damage increase from Enhanced Thunder during Weather control has been dropped from 30% to 25%.

- The Damage Falloff of Wind Blade at 30 meters will be changed from 70% to 60%.
- Reduce Storm’s damage increase from Thunder during Weather Control from 16% to 12%. However, the damage increase for allies within range has been increased from 8% to 10%.
- Reduce Storm’s damage increase from Enhanced Thunder during Weather Control from 30% to 25%.
Weapons
Unlike some characters in Marvel Rivals, Storm doesn’t really carry a weapon. Her primary and secondary attacks are actually manifestations of her elemental powers.

How to play Storm in Marvel Rivals
Storm’s ability to hover above the arena offers fantastic verticality and mobility but the trade-off is that she can be easily sniped by ranged attacks. Having good situational awareness of enemy positions will keep you alive and safe from these.
That doesn’t mean you should be afraid to get airborne, just be careful when you do. Storm’s best utility in combat comes from ambushing foes from above after buffing her own attacks with the Goddess Boost.
Dexerto / NeteaseWhere she really shines is as a coordinating force that knows when to buff your teammates with Weather Control. When you’re ready to push, offer the speed boost to close in before switching to the damage boost once your team is on top of your opponents.
Storm’s Ultimate Omega Hurricane is a great tool for crowd control and can force enemies into a tight group for your teammates to pick off. This is also a good time to give your team a damage boost for quick kills.
Best team comp
No Marvel Rivals match was ever won without good team coordination, and if you want to succeed as Storm, you’ll need a smart team comp. We recommend pairing her with the following characters:
- Thor & Captain America
- Peni
- Loki
- Namor
Thor & Captain America
Given Storm’s Team-Up ability, having both Thor and Captain America in your team would be ideal. Both you and Cap would benefit from Thor’s abilities, granting higher damage and perfectly complementing each other. Combine this with their similar fighting styles, and Storm can jump in, enhance their damage, and they can destroy the enemy together.

Peni Parker
Peni Parker may not be the highest-ranked character in our tier list, but when combined with Storm and played correctly, she’s stellar. Her ranged DPS attacks help complement Storm, and her ultimate makes her an undeniable threat. Play her in the same way as Storm, and you’ll be fine.

His healing and damage capabilities complement Storm’s buff and damage attacks. So together you’ll be able to control the battlefield like no other, all while dealing some fantastic damage.

Thanks to his wall of turrets, Namor is a powerhouse in battle and works fantastically with Storm. He’s able to dive into battle, shielding himself and shutting down enemy mobility with his ult. Once he’s done that, Storm will be protected, allowing her to destroy anyone who stands in their way.

Scarlet Witch
Dexerto / NeteaseFrom the list it’s easy to see just how you’d counter Storm – ranged characters. Fighters like Scarlet Witch are perfect for combatting this deadly character. Most of the time you won’t be able to get near Storm if you’re a ground character thanks to her flying, so grab a fighter like Scarlet Witch, stay high, and capitalize on her low health.

Iron Man
If Scarlet Witch isn’t the flying fighter for you, then Iron Man is another fantastic option. He can fly, deal high damage with his beams, and has the durability to withstand a storm (for the most part). As long as you’re careful with him, you’ll be able to defeat Storm with ease.

Punisher
Dexerto / NetEaseWhile flying characters are among some of the best counters for Storm, there’s nothing wrong with a good ranged hero too. One like the Punisher is a fantastic choice, as you can stay out of the line of fire, all while taking her low health straight to zero. Just stay away, preferably hidden from her sight, and let loose those bullets.

Hawkeye
If Punisher isn’t your style, then the next best thing is Hawkeye. He works in the same way, stay ranged, and keep firing at Storm. Just ensure you stay out of her major abilities and keep firing. The character’s not that durable once you get to actually hit her.
