A new Honkai game that features Pokemon-style creatures is in development, and the trailer should have every creature-collecting fan excited.
During the Honkai Star Rail concert livestream, HoYoverse gave players a sneak peek at the new game that is currently in development. While the devs have yet to reveal the title of their next project, we did get to see two familiar faces: Kiana and Blade.
Kiana is one of the main protagonists of Honkai Impact 3rd, while Blade is a member of Honkai Star Rail’s Stellaron Hunters. Both characters appear in the trailer, and while HoYoverse is no stranger to crossover content, the new Honkai game has one interesting feature that will excite Pokmon fans.
New Honkai game has major Pokemon vibes
During the brief clip, we see anime characters paired up with some cute creatures. As Kiana makes her way through town with her jelly-like dog, she encounters Blade, who is paired with a wolf that looks a lot like Zacian’s Crowned Sword form – a legendary Pokemon from the Gen 8 games.
Upon meeting, both Kiana and Blade’s monsters leap into the air and begin fighting. While no gameplay was shown, it certainly looks as though the new Honkai game is focused on monster collecting and battling.

Towards the end of the video, we are shown silhouettes of characters, with each one having a creature next to them. Judging from the shadowy figures, it looks like the monsters will range from small flying types to gigantic bipedal beasts – hell, one silhouette even looks like Heracross.
Quite how players will obtain these creatures remains to be seen, but judging from the video above, it looks like each Honkai character will come with a designated monster. There is no release date yet, but Pokemon could have more than Palworld and Digimon to compete with in the future.
