A new leak from YouTuber Moore’s Law Is Dead suggests that the long-rumored PS6 handheld may have specs that could ‘crush’ the ROG Xbox Ally handheld, while offering a lower price.

The PlayStation 5 was released in 2020, and now, five years later, we’re starting to hear more rumors about Sony’s next-gen console plans.

Back in April, leaks revealed that Sony may be working on a handheld version of the PS6 to release in 2027 alongside the new console.

On Wednesday, August 27, YouTuber Moore’s Law Is Dead revealed more information about the potential handheld, including its specs and possible price.

YouTuber MLID reveals PS6 handheld is “dockable”

According to Moore’s Law Is Dead, the PS6 handheld will feature AMD’s yet-to-be-released Canis APU that is built on the newer Zen 6 CPU architecture and its new RDNA5 integrated graphics card.

Users will reportedly be able to get from 24 GB to 36 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 6 CPU cores that are split between being used for gaming and the OS running the handheld.

What makes it even more interesting is that MLID says the PS6 handheld will be dockable like the Switch 2, and will see an increase in power when docked as the CPU will go from 1.20GHz to 1.65GHz.

The YouTuber says that the increase in power will translate to .75x faster raster performance and up to 2.6x faster ray tracing performance compared to the existing PlayStation 5, while docked, and that it will “crush” the ROG Xbox Ally X, which is the higher model of Xbox’s new handheld.

On top of being faster, MLID says the PS6 handheld will come in at $499 on the high end, making it significantly cheaper than the Xbox counterpart.

We likely won’t see the PS6 handheld until sometime in 2027 or later, but the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds are set to release on October 16, 2025.

Dexerto went hands-on with the lower model Xbox Ally during Gamescom 2025, and came to the conclusion that the handheld feels like a premium device that delivers on its promised performance.
