Nintendo confirms Nintendo Direct set for September 12

Switch 2 console

Nintendo has officially announced its next Nintendo Direct broadcast, confirming the showcase will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025.

The announcement was made through the Nintendo Today app, with the company revealing that the presentation will go live at 6am PDT, 2pm BST, 3pm CEST, and 10pm JST across its official YouTube channels and website.

This will be the first full Direct since the reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 earlier this year, making it one of the most anticipated broadcasts in recent memory.

While Nintendo has not shared details on the lineup, fans are expecting updates on major titles such as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which was recently rated in several regions but still has no release date.

The timing also falls just days before the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., fueling speculation about anniversary-related announcements or new Mario projects.

Rumors of a September Direct had been circulating for weeks, with insiders pointing to either September 11 or 12. Nintendo has now confirmed the date, setting the stage for a showcase that could define the early Switch 2 era.

The broadcast is expected to run for around 40 minutes and will highlight games launching later in 2025 and beyond.
