Palworld developer Pocketpair is giving its employees a day off to play Monster Hunter Wilds, allowing them to get a head start in the Forbidden Lands.
Monster Hunter Wilds’ release date is nearly here and from February 28, 2025, players worldwide will finally be able to clash with the game’s toothy terrors. However, many Hunters will need to slog through a long day of work first before they start their second job as an armchair Hunter. Well, that’s unless you work for Pocketpair.
On February 27, Palworld devs said they received several mysterious absence requests from their staff. As for the reasons behind these absences, staff had told the devs that they had suddenly started to feel unwell. However, to the surprise of the employees who had requested time off for some quality hunting time, I mean rest, the devs had joined in on the joke.
Palworld devs give employees Monster Hunter Wilds surprise
Writing on X, Palworld devs wrote: “For some reason, many employees have reported that they may be feeling unwell tomorrow, so tomorrow has been given an extra day off.” This will undoubtedly enable staff to focus on taking the time to look after themselves, and totally not grind out HR ranks in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Monster Hunter is incredibly popular in Japan, with the country even having a day dedicated to one of its most iconic monsters – Yian Kut-Ku. One retailer has also announced a PS5 rental service coinciding with the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds. So, to say that the series is big would be an understatement.
However, Monster Hunter Wilds has also been receiving a lot of love outside of Japan and is currently the top-selling game on Steam. We even gave the game a glowing score in our Monster Hunter Wilds review, so those who have taken a day off to play it are in for a good time.
