RuneScape Dragonwilds, a brand-new co-op survival game set in the RuneScape universe, has arrived in early access. If you want to play it on Xbox and PlayStation, it’s not all bad news.

Developers Jagex shadowdropped RuneScape Dragonwilds on April 15, letting players dive into the survival crafting game straight away. It costs $29.99 on Steam, with plans to release the full game at some point in 2026.

But what about console players? A developer has shed some light on when we might see it arrive on Xbox and PlayStation.

RuneScape Dragonwilds console release window

RuneScape Dragonwilds isn’t on Xbox and PlayStation for the early access launch, but the devs plan to bring it to consoles with the full release.

Speaking to Jake Lucky, Jagex’s senior community manager, Mod Doom, confirmed their plans for the full release to include consoles.

“Hopefully, by winter 2026, players will be able to get it fully launched. Full boxed release, and you can get your friends in on consoles. So, that’s the plan,” he said.

“On all the different socials we put out, on everything we shared, players are like ‘please, please tell me it’s coming to console,'” he continued. “And I’m like ‘yeah, eventually! ‘Cause I can’t give you a date, ’cause I don’t want to give you a date and you be disappointed.”

As for the release date, he said, “You’re gonna have to trust me, it’ll be out when it’s out and I know that sucks as a player. I hate when I get that answer because I’m like ‘bro, just let me know when it’s gonna be, please,’ but we want to do this thing right and I know that players will be patient and understand if we say look, we don’t wanna screw this up.”
