A Silent Hill 1 remake has just been announced at Konami’s Press Start showcase, where the game was confirmed to be in development.

On June 12, 2025, Konami finally revealed that the long-awaited Silent Hill remake is being worked on. While the release date and gameplay have yet to be announced, we now know that Bloober Team, the devs behind the excellent Silent Hill 2 remake, are working alongside Konami to develop the game.

The short 25-second trailer features the iconic music from the first game, which plays eerily in the background while fog sweeps across the screen. You can see the full trailer below:

The original Silent Hill was released in 1999 for the PS1 and follows protagonist Harry Mason as he searches for his missing daughter in the fictional American town of Silent Hill. Players must make their way through the fog-filled town, solving puzzles and fighting off the creepy creatures that stalk the streets.

Bloober Team’s CEO, Piotr Babieno, originally announced they would be working with Konami again back in February:

“Our collaboration with Konami has been incredibly fruitful, and the success of Silent Hill 2 speaks for itself,” said the CEO.

“By sharing knowledge and experience, we have been able to create high-quality production together. Of course, we can’t reveal too many details at this time, but we are confident that fans will be just as excited about our collaboration as we are. We can’t wait to share something truly special with players when the time is right.”

With Bloober Team headlining the remake, many fans will be hoping they can pull off yet another successful win for the horror series. After all, Silent Hill 2’s remake received widespread acclaim when it was released back on October 8, 2024.
