The creator of Stardew Valley has a secret role somewhere in Hollow Knight: Silksong, but right now, no one knows exactly who he’s playing.
As found by The Verge, Eric Barone, also known as Concerned Ape, the creator of cozy indie hit Stardew Valley, is listed in the credits under the “additional voices section.” This can be found by heading into the “extras” section of the main menu.
So, this means that the brains behind the popular farming sim has lent his voice to one, or maybe more, of the insect inhabitants of Pharloom. But all of this begs the question, who does he play?
Who does Eric Barone play in Silksong?
Well, the truth is, no one actually knows. The credits don’t list the name of the actual character, and everyone involved is keeping it hidden.
Cole Medeiros, head of operations at Concerned Ape, confirmed to The Verge that the person listed is the Eric Barone we all know, but wouldn’t reveal which role he’s playing. He said that the dev would “rather not say which character(s) so as not to spoil any surprises for anyone.”

This could mean that he’s voicing a character that we don’t meet until later on the journey, but it’s hard to say, as he’s clearly keeping his cards close to his chest.
It might be difficult to pick him out, too. The bugs in Hollow Knight: Silksong speak in gibberish and don’t use any identifiable language, as all of the dialogue is laid out by text boxes that appear onscreen.

With this in mind, we probably find out who the Stardew Valley creator is playing until either Barone himself or Team Cherry comes out and confirms it, unless players manage to figure it out early.
Silksong is available right now on all platforms and has launched to glowing reviews after crashing many storefronts on day one.
