Fried chicken and horse girls are back on the menu as the Umamusume x KFC collab is returning this month, but there’s one catch that global fans won’t like – it’s exclusive to Japan.

KFC is no stranger to the world of collabs – in fact, it’s teamed up with everything from Genshin Impact to Honkai Star Rail. However, the Colonel has once again turned his eye towards the highly popular mobile game, Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

Running from September 9 to September 29, the promotion features a variety of themed goodies for fried chicken enthusiasts to collect. The main set is the “How about a Stroll with an Umamusume Today” collab pack, which is exclusively available for online orders.

Those who purchase the set will be able to take part in the “KFC Sanpo” event, where trainers can take their favorite characters on casual strolls. Just like the previous event, the game’s Umas can be seen wearing their everyday outfits, while also enjoying buckets of KFC – after all, what better way to train for long-distance races than devouring a bucket of fried chicken?

The collaboration doesn’t stop at digital rewards, either, as customers who order the collaboration meal are entered into a lottery for exclusive merchandise. Prizes include a detailed diorama stand with acrylic figures, a nine-card collector’s set, and even KFC-branded gift cards.

As for the meal itself, it comes with a KFC original bucket and biscuits, which will set you back $6.75 if you pick it up from the store or $8.35 for delivery. Of course, the only downside is that the current promo is locked to Japan, with no plans for overseas distribution.
