KonamiIn one of the most unexpected collaborations you’ll see this year, a crossover has been announced between eFootball and Yu-Gi-Oh!, bringing Duel Monsters to the pitch and Neymar to the card game.
Konami, who own both franchises, announced the team-up event on September 25, which is set to mash the two together and bring weird and wonderful items to both games.
From now until October 23, anyone who logs into eFootball will receive a special in-game card that transforms Brazilian superstar Neymar into the Dark Magician.
He’s not alone, either, as French duo Jules Kounde and Warren Zaire-Emery have used Polymerization with Slither the Sky Dragon and Red-Eyes Black Dragon, respectively. Players can unlock these items by completing challenges, as well as other pitch decorations like a giant Exodia or a group of Kuriboh.

It’s far from a one-way relationship, too, as eFootball is also invading the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. Players who log into eFootball after September 27 will be able to claim a special Neymar Jr card, as well as an eFootball-themed Rescue Rabbit.
Unfortunately for those who wanted to see Neymar step over his way past a Blue-Eyes White Dragon, it doesn’t appear as though his card is classed as a Monster, as it features no attack or defense stats. However, it can be used to replace a token, so it’s still worth including in your deck.
If you’re more of a Master Duel fan, there will also be some football-inspired rewards up for grabs in an event that runs from Monday, October 6, until Friday, November 7.
