GTA 6 fans convinced they’ve found game’s release date in most unlikely place

As GTA 6’s fall 2025 release window fast approaches, fans have discovered a possible release date clue in the most unlikely of places.

Rockstar Games finally unveiled the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 back in December 2023, but the studio has remained mum ever since, leaving fans anxious and concerned about a possible delay.

While the boss of Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, has reassured fans that the game is on pace to release in the Fall, a firm date has yet to be announced.

However, fans have now made an interesting discovery in a 12-year-old game that they believe could contain GTA 6’s release date.

Fans think they know when GTA 6 will come out

In a post on social media, a user pointed out that a poster in Max Payne 3 from 2013 contains a series of dates that coincide with games released by Rockstar.

The poster, which is also a shirt for sale on the Rockstar website, contains dates for the fictional heavy metal band ‘Love Fist’ and their Dogs on Heat tour.

Of note, the poster references October 4, May 18, September 17, and October 26, which line up the dates GTA 4, Red Dead Redemption, GTA 5, and RDR2 came out.

The user also noted how the poster contained the date October 29, which is suspected to be around the time GTA 6 will finally launch. However, there’s also a date for January 4, which doesn’t quite match.

Still, fans were quick to jump on the theory and brainstorm if Rockstar was really planning GTA 6 so far in advance.

“Schizophrenia aside, the fact that those dates match up perfectly is insane,” one said.

“There is no way the dates actually match,” remarked another bewildered user.

“You might actually be onto something,” someone else chimed in.

However, there’s just one big problem. Some of the dates actually overlap. For instance, while Red Dead Redemption came out on October 26, so too did GTA: San Andreas.

Furthermore, the suspected GTA 6 release of October 29 is also when GTA: Vice City came out in 2002.

Although it’s unlikely this was all planned ahead of time, there’s no denying the strange series of coincidences. We’ll have to wait and see if anything comes of this and if history ends up repeating itself.
